Fall 2006 October, November, December

Hi Everyone,

Fall is here and before we know it the holidays will be upon us!

Fall is the time of year when I travel to the Child Neurology Society (CNS) meeting and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) meeting. This year CNS was in Pittsburgh, PA and ASHG was in New Orleans, LA. As always, both meetings were very productive—meeting new scientists and continuing to spread the word about Joubert Syndrome and Related Cerebellar Disorders. This year, the board worked on building our library of information to include the related conditions associated with Joubert Syndrome. This information was made available to the attendees at the CNS and ASHG meetings. I was very pleased to make some connections with physicians from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) this year. We are hoping to partner with them in the future for research. I hope to have more news on that in a future issue of “The Rainbow”.

Our Foundation has members from all around the world. We would like to be able to provide information on Joubert Syndrome in other languages. I am looking for help from any member, or friends of members, who have the ability to translate information into foreign languages. It would be wonderful to be able to reach out to more families who speak other languages. If you know anyone willing to help us, please contact me!

My letter to you this issue is short and sweet! I would like to wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season!

Your friend and President,
Cheryl Duquette
